Questions about bass clubs

Featured Replies

I've been fishing my entire life, literally. Some of my earliest memories are of reeling in my father's catch.  Both my dad and step-dad are 7 day a week bass fishermen.  Yet, neither one of them are in clubs, or ever have been to my knowledge. So my question is, what is the purpose of the bass club?  Do you have meetings? If so, what do you discuss?  What are some of the pros and cons to being in a bass club?  I'm sure it's a good place to meet other anglers in the area, and that would be nice since I just moved up here.  I'm just trying to get an idea if joining a bass club would be a good idea for me.  Thanks in advance guys.

One of the biggest thing is you learn new stuff. Guys that think they know it all, don't. fishing in club with different people, with different styles ,k teaches you to  learn new lures, techniques and places to fish. I have fished all my life and am pretty good at it. joined a club in 2002 and I soon found out I didn't know anything. I have learned so much in the bast 5 years it is unbelievable. I fish nothing like I used to, I fish so much smarter and better now. And I am still learning, I will never stop learning. If you want to better yourself in fishing than a club is a great way to.

every year there are guys that join my club, that say they have fished all their life and when fishing with their buddies they always catch more fish. some of these guy, not all, but some. think they will come into the club and take it over, catching so much more than anyone else. usually at the first tournament reality sets in and they find out they have a lot to learn. Things that they would not be able to learn from fishing with their buddies. That is where a club helps you, if your willing to learn, you will

Well said! 8-)

I have only recently joined a local club. I did not go in thinkin I knew it all but I went in with a desire to learn more.

To me it is the fellowship with other anglers who understand the passion to fish that excites me.

The thrill of tournement weekend is a major rush too!

;)

fishing in a club is a great experiance and you learn a lot ive fished in three clubs two in Ma. and one in south Fl. One thing I learnd is to fish outside my way of fishing and dont be affraid to be radical in the way I fish.Have fun and learn.Im now in west Tn. and if I could find a club Id join it.But until then I just keep fishing.Bob
