Family Outing

Featured Replies

Had a second Thanksgiving dinner planned for today, with my dads side of my family.  Before the get together we thought we would get the family together and have a little fishing outing.  So it was me, my girlfriend, my dad, my stepmom, my sister and her husband and their 2 little girls, my other sister and her 2 children and my grandpa. The kids were using worms and catching whatever would bite, I was throwing a spinnerbait.  All the kids ended up catching some fish, mostly bluegill and crappie, and i caught 2 little LMBs.  Then we decided to try another pond that was close to my grandpas house, since that was where dinner was going to be.  One of my sisters and her children had other plans and couldnt join use.  We get to the other pond and start fishing.  One of my nieces ended up catching 7 little crappies and the other was too busy playing in the leaves to fish.  And i ended up catching a chunky 3lber on the spinnerbait (which made me happy).  Redardless of the fish caught, what meant the most to me was just seeing my nieces and nephew out there fishing, catching the first fish of their lives. Also that we had 4 generations out there fishing.  It was really an awesome fishing outing, meant a lot to me.

What a wonderful day! Thanksgiving & family go together so well; add fishing and, well, it's nirvana!

Sounds like a great time!

Now that's a day to be thankful for, food, family, friends ..........and FISH!  :)

LBH said it perfectly.  You guys tackled togetherness and family events, and a good time, all in one package.  :)

Cool, family is everything.
