This is my first attempt to post pics, so my apologies if it goes badly. The largemouth was 5lb2oz and caught on a jig-and-pig. Striper was caught on the same lure...33in x 18in...no weight on that one, because my scale quits at 10lb.

There was a tournament on the lake and those guys did very well. I still can't put numbers in the boat, but who's complaining.

Great job!!!   Those are some nice fish.

I've been trying to build up my confidence in the jig again.  I had a string of nice fish come unbuttoned in '06 and I was beginning to lose my nerve.  I believe that I was setting the hook too hard (using braid) and ripping it out of the fish, unless the hook found itself perfectly positioned in the jaw.  My reasoning was based on the fact that I had zero problems with fish throwing the jig while fishing from the shore using mono.  At first, I tried to cut back on my "normal" hookset, but the best solution has been to turn down the drag a bit.  I get a bit of a drag slip on the initial hookset now and I haven't had one come unbottoned in a while.
