Well, it's been about two months since I've gone bass fishing, but this sunday I'll finally be going! I'm so excited to catch my first bass of the season! I'm gonna try the Ocklawaha River down here in Florida. The bass are spawning, and I'm thinking about throwing some spinnerbaits and plastic worms. I'll post pics of all the bass I catch ;D ....... hopefully.

I'm back from my outing and..... I got SKUNKED.  :'( I didn't catch a single bass. I had one vicious hit on a Bill Lewis Ratl Trap but that was it. Don't know if it was a bass or not. I don't get it. I tried softplastic worms, spinnerbaits, lipless crankbaits, topwaters, and wacky rigs. Nothing produced. The fish are spawning now, but I don't know what I did wrong. Maybe I just never found them.

sorry to hear that the skunk got you.

I'm not great with bed fishing either.

What I"ll often do is back off away from the bank and work a crankbait in the deeper water where the bass will stage before spawning.

Seems like I have much better luck that way.

good luck and have fun.
