Here are the conditions- 35 degrees, about 1/4 or more of the lake is still under ice. Bluebird skies, and gusts up to and over 25 mph. Guess what, i caught 3 fish, and in about 1 and 1/2 hours. All 3 were caught on an 1/8th oz terminator jig rigged with a yum crawtube. I missed about 5 more bites. I didnt measure these fish, but are guessing they are around 16".

There's something about catching bass when it's cold outside.  Very rewarding!!!

I use the same jig in the 1/4 oz version early in the year.  Great jig.

Congrats dude!! That is really awesome that you could catch them in those conditions. I was out on the river today for the first time in quite a while. The problem is, that 30" of snow melted way too fast and the water is up 3 or 4 feet. There is 0 visability and everything is flooded. The water is cold, muddy and high on the main channel. Obviously not a bass environment. This is a tough time of year for an outdoor fishing enthusiast because there is too much ice in the backwaters to fish where the bass are (slow moving, clearer water) but there isn't enough ice to fish on. By next weekend we should be in the backwaters getting into the swing of things though! Good luck this year rocknfish..You are definitely having a great start!

Well visibility was about 6 inches. And like i said, about 1/4 (maybe more) of the lake was frozen. If you look over my right shoulder on the first pic you can see the ice. Anyways, i was wondering if anybody was going to comment on the shades, i like to wear them everywhere, just lucky that they are polarized.

LOL bassassin. Thats brutal! 2 weeks ago we got over 30" in 2 seperate storms. Thankfully, its mostly gone. The river is still frozen though. Us northern guys have to go through a lot of withdrawls before we finally get to fish :'(

you betcha. I keep trying not to get my hopes up but just the other day I had to do something so I decided to sort out and organzie all my tackle. These are the little things that get me by!
