Zellmander was the pick of the day

Featured Replies

Headed out to my favorite pond yesterday. The weather has certainly inmproved to say the least and the fish are moving shallower. Was nice to see some Perch. Bluegill & Crappie in the shallows as well & even had a few chase after my offerings.

I had great luck last year in the spring with a Carolina rig so i rigged one up on my spinning rod and had a jig on one baitcaster and crankbait on the other baitcaster. Started out with the crankbait and had nothin, switched to the jig and got nothing as well. Time to bring out the C rig...

Rigged it with a Zellmander and I had about a 3 1/2' leader when I started but only got a cpl hits. I decided that my leader was to long so I shortened up to about 24" and the fun began. There was a point when I was getting a bass on every cast, good times :)

Here is a nice Smallie I got last Friday on my 3rd cast with a white Strike King Spinnerbait with a Fluke rigged on...I had 4 Largemouth hooked up as well but they forgot how to hang on apparently and lost them all at the bank
