Burning a palm tree and fish farting.

Featured Replies

I thought the subject might gather some attention. Haha!

But no kidding, the lesser known Kinami palm tree is Fat Ika knock off that I absolutely love to fish like you would a senko.  However I tried "burning"  a palm tree  (with the occassional 3-4 second pause) in 3-4 feet of water over a rip rap bank, and absolutely killed them!!!!!  I caught several 2-3lb fish in the neighborhood pond sometime during the pause.  One of these fish that I caught, and was unable to grip by the jaw due to hook placement, literally farted on me while being unhooked.  Dont ask questions, and I'll spare the details.  Honestly , I was not sure that fish DID fart... but it did make for about 5 minutes of laughter from my girlfriend.  Just thought I would share.

PS

This probably could have been posted under Fishing Tackle, My Fishing Trip, or general.... so I just picked one.

It can be amazing sometimes how a totally off the wall technique will catch fish.  Similar to you I was recently fishing a white tube, and one cast was off target so I went to burn it back to me and had a fish hammer it.  I fished for the next two hours "swimming" a tube and caught several fish.

yea i've caught a few swimming a white tube or white/black tube. I think it looks like a shad or an injured one if you jerk it fast and let it fall. I don't think you can fish a tube wrong
