Morning Fishing in Michigan

Featured Replies

1st off let me say that it kind of bums me out that every time I try to post a picture on this site, it just does'nt work!

Took one of my oldest friends out to my spot this morning cause I believe that he did'nt believe me about the spot where I catch all of my bass. Even though I've given this guy my catches from my last 5-8 trips. Biggest one I've given to him is a beautiful 18 inch largemouth. We got to the spot at about 6am. I've been fishing the bass with 1/2 ounce Rat-l-traps and silver spoons(Krocadiles). My first cast nabbed one that shook off right at the shore.(We fish from shore, no boats allowed) Two more tosses and I netted a nice 14 incher. We had'nt been there 5 minutes. Two more casts later and I pulled in a 15 incher. 10 minutes had gone by and I had 2 nice bass and he had'nt even gotten a lure on his line yet! He finally wisened up and got a rat-l-trap from me and got and lost a nice one. A few minutes later he landed a little fat 12 incher. We kept fishin for a bit but the sun had gotten up enough to make things start gettin hot and I was having some problems with a snag and then a broken baitcast. We were out maybe an hour and nabbed 3 nice bass. I know there's some big bass in this body of water and I plan on catching them. Also did some fishing up in Walhalla this past week and caught a nice 14 inch largemouth, a small rock bass and a muskie. That was a first. Caught that on a rat-l-trap too.

Gonna try some different spots at my "spot" 2morrow morning. I'm going to make it a point to get out there 45 minutes to an hour earlier than I normally do, as the sun seems to rise a little faster in the morning here. Either that or I'm having such a good time that the time just flies....

Wish me luck guys. Biggest I've landed is a 19 inch largemouth. That means that there's some bigger ones out there.

And I've chosen to accept this mission.......
