1st outing post/ Jig Eaters

Featured Replies

I know that people like to see pics with these posts and since I don't have a digital camera, I have never posted on here. Well I scanned a few pics from a recent outing to Laka Castaic. I don't remember the weight of these fish but I do remeber that the top five for my partner and I that day was in the 18lb range. There was a National Bass tournament that day that we would have won by two pounds had we entered but we didn't have the entry money that weekend. Oh well, probably wouldn't have done this well if we were in the tourney. These were my three biggest of the day and they were all caught on the same 3/8oz brown/green pumpkin Skinny Bear jig with Smallie Beaver trailer. I caught about 15 other fish that day but they were all in the 1.5-2.5lb range.

Thanks guys.

That's funny that you say that, I am always wishing that I had some nice grass flats to fish! Most of the lakes down here are steep walled stuff. A lot of times i'm covering depths of inches to 30'+ on a single cast with the jig. It also makes it real tuff if you aren't lucky enough to fish off a boat, not much shoreline to walk on.
