You didn't get the idea of using Zoom watermelon seed lizards from did ya ?  Most definately use the lizard again.  I use a 1/8 sinker most of time.  I had problems with Vanish also but it sounds like your case was user error.  Get rid of the vanish and use something else.  I use P-line but there are alot of other good ones out too.   Doug.  

P.S.  I found the SPOT lastniite.  (That didn't sound rite haha).  I never had my St.Croix Heavy double over before on a bass till lastnite.  I knew this lake had BIG fish in it and it would be a matter of time before finding them (IT).   Call me when you want to go.
