Ribbits

Featured Replies

Got up at about 4 this morning and was going to give this pond and Ribbits (first time using toads) a try. It was still dark when I got there so I tied a black Jitterbug and threw that for a while. Caught 3 that might nudge 1 1/2. Started getting light so I tied a 5/0 hook and a Ribbit. Boy, do they cast great. Little feet just kicking water like crazy, great sound. If you pull them across weeds floating on the top and the Ribbit turns upside down, it will right itself once you get to an opening. Falls nice and slow when you let it and comes back to the surface real quick, little feet just getting it. Great so far ;).......... DIDN'T GET A STRIKE THE WHOLE DURNED TIME I HAD IT TIED ON  :'( :'(!!!

I am not a big frog user myself but I sometimes fish with a guy that uses them.  When they hit it,  THEY HIT IT!! :o

You had me sold until the last sentence!

I think the Ribbits are the best, flappinest, pad hoppinest frogs going. Definitely my #1 choice.  :)

But if I'm looking for a frog to swim or drop to the bottom, it's tough to beat those ribbon tail legs of a Horny Toad.

I've been messing around with adobe photoshop. It's a fun program, but very addictive.

I took a picture of a dude who was caught huffing spraypaint, then stuck his face on my body.

DMB,

Just think what the National Enquirer could have done if they had photo-shop ;D!! I've got a friend that has almost taken it to an art form. If you'll remember in the first "Pirates of the Caribbean", at the very first of the film, Capt. Jack sailed in on a sinking ship and stepped on the dock from the top of the mast. I used to have long hair and a REALLY impressive set of mustaches. Johnny took a photo of me and put my face on Capt. Jack's body and wrote Skillet goes fishin' along the bottom. Have it on the frige now. Made a pretty decent pirate ;)...

LOL is anyone else thinking "who would do this??"

Skillet, where were you fishing? I prefer the horny toad to the ribbit but I use both, ive just had better luck on the horny toad it seem's like.

MF,

It was a pond near my house and have fished there only once before. Didn't do too well then either. I really never meant to put all the blame on the Ribbit. Under the right conditions I think you could do well with it. It did everything it was supposed to do really well (just no strikes ;D)...
