wow. what a day. this morning got up at 6 got to the farm pond around 7. i had on a BPS Nitro super shallow crankbait. i was casting around the dock hopin to get hit on my first cast. well didnt happen. probably on my 10th cast i got my first fish, and the biggest of the day! this one went 18.5" and 2.75lbs.

another one from that pond

i kept fishing that and caught a few more. then i switched over to a bandit foot loose (the BPS crank was going too deep) and caught a few more. all in all i caught 7 fish from that pond. my dad only managed 1 cuz he was bottom fishing with a 7" yum dinger. his fish was 15.5"

then the fishing slowed so i walked over to the second pond across the yard, and the fishing was killer over there!!!! there was duckweed all over the surface, totaling about 3/4 of the pond, but it was blowing with the wind so it chaged all the time. well my dad got one on a torpedo next to the edge of the duckweed.

then i casted a 4" yum dinger on the duckweed and as soon as it fell off the edge into open water it got slammed. but i was using an ultralite and couldnt get a hookset in. then i tried again and i hooked up and caught the bass. then i tried once more and caught another fish in the exact same spot!

after those two i switched over to a 7" power worm (wanted a kicking tail) and continued to catch fish on that. i ended up with a total of 18 bass!!!!!

here are a few more pics of the nicer ones that i caught:

my dad ended up with a big bluegill on the torpedo. then he switched over to a worm like me and landed a 16" bass.

so that was an extremely productive day for me!!! not so much for my dad, with only 4 fish, but at least all of his were nice sized!!!

P.S. all of the fish that i caught at the second pond (with duckweed) i caught on an ultralight setup with 6lb line and a loose drag!!! those bass sure put up a good fight, and when they swim in the duckweed it makes it even more fun because thers more resistance!!! :)

Nice Fish.  :)

Totally cool young jedi.

You look just like your father but I'm sure you've told that a million times already.

I really love the look on your face in the photo's.

It's got that Buddha like serenity.

Sort of "ho hum, another bass"

Yet I know your jumping out of your skin.

Well done son,

Wish I had a little place like that near my place. Looks like it can be a lot of fun. Nice Report too.
