My First Tourney: Results

Featured Replies

so-so day, i had one fish and my partner got one. my fish came on a dropshot with a roboworm FX in oxblood color. he was 14.5 in and went 1.48. i have pic but will have to get it loaded on my pc, maybe tomorrow ill try. Our total two fish weight was 3.03, both on the drop shot

anyway, heading out again tomorrow to take my friend fishing for the first time, need to hook up with a bass there

It sounds pretty slim, but what about the other competetitors?  Where did you place?

i have no guts to join a tourney until i can show some consistentsy

Maxke01  You'd be suprized on how inconsistant many bass members are.  I regret not joining a club earlier in life.  A club is the best place to learn as a nonboater you get to fish with all the different members and you get to almost copy what they are doing to catch fish.  Its not cheating--Make it a goal to fish a local club tourney this year.  Its cheap and not real competitive.   Let me know if you'd like more info or encouragement.

Also if you are not catching fish, your boater will help you or give you the front of the boat

i am very inconsistent and have only been bass fishing for three years. what bizz said is totally correct, and the people you will be fishing with are usually really nice and will even give you tackle and other stuff to use if u dont have what the fish are on. My boater was super nice and i had a blast. I dont regret joining the club at all and i have learned a bunch already.

lol only problem with that is all internet aside im a little anti-social so to speak. I have real trouble communicating to people unless i know them.

Yeah im pretty much the same way Max, although once someone brings up fishing, you just can't get me to shut up lol. So try that as it might help you, just start talking about fishing with them and Im sure you'll stir up a conversation and new friendship ;).

I remember working at Homedepot, I met a guy who worked in the plumbing department, I worked in the back, anyway he asked me if I fished and I replied with "thats like asking willy wonka if he ever heard of candy" after that we talked a bunch about fishing and I got to be a good friend of his. Everytime a fishing show comes up that he plans on going to he will let me know and ask if I want to go, he took me on his boat many times to alot of big lakes I'd never get the chance to fish. And I showed him some great saltwater spots for fluking. So anyway I highly suggest getting some fishing buddies as it truly is something you will most likely benefit from.

Well no pressure meant but when you are ready, its a great place to learn.

If you don't want to join a club yet, they will let you fish a tourney or two.  Maybe even with no fee but you won't qualify for winnings.

You can even choose who you want to fish with.

Understand that bass fisherman will really go out of their way for the future of the sport.       Good Luck.
