Well I went down to one of my neighborhood ponds yesterday and wow it was a day of first and I loved it.. When I first got there I could see bass suspended and I could see them hitting on the shore all around me. I started with the Senko and Caught a couple none of any real size. I then switched to a jig and they wouldn't take that. So i finally said what the heck and tied on a buzz bait for the first time in my bass fishing life. Well I fished this one little cove where I could see bass and nothing till about the 8th cast in the same spot and slam! he nailed it he was just a dink but still my first buzz bait bass. After  that  I was so pumped i couldn't put it down. I ended up catching about 20 or so bass in about an hour and a half

all on Buzz bait. I landed a 3lb and a 4lb and had a hawg on I could tell by the way he was pulling but he got off about 5-7 missed the buzz bait and wouldnt take it after i brought it back over that area 3-4 times. All i can say is wow Buzzbait is going up there in my favorites   just thought I'd tell ya'll about a great day fishing  

I had a similar experience last fall.  Had never tied on a buzz bait just because I didn't think they worked that well around me.  Went to a little public pond 5 minutes down the road, fished it alongside some weeds and slam, slam slam.  Three fish in less than 10 minutes or so from the same spot.  After that I had my fun with that bait all over Northern Virginia, missing some lunkers because of getting excited and landing a few more.  Absolutely a great bait.  I like Strike King's Single Tri-Blade in Chartreuse/White.

Top water is a blast man. It's still a little early in the year and its only going to get better.

During the summer try it right before daybreak and at night.
