Second Tourney

Featured Replies

Seventh out of 14 boats for my secend ever club tourney. Had a fun day. My partner caught 3 (2 keepers) and i caught 2 (1keeper). Even though we caught just 3 keeps, it was a fun learning experience.

My two pound (on the dot) keeper was the fourth largest bass of the tourney behind an 8.25, 5, and 4.2. Our total weight came to be 4.03lbs. We would have had sixth place with just .03lbs more, even though that team had four fish.

The eight was caught on an 8" swimbait

My two fish were caught on a MMII colored Roboworm Sculpin, 4"

On of my partners fish were caught with that while the other two were caught with a six inch straight tail roboworm in prism shad color.

4 of the fish, includung my two, were caught on the drop shot. My confidence in this technique has gone way up in the past two months. I never really fished it before 2008. The last fish was caught on the split shot. It was one of the keepers.

Our seventh place finish was better than my ninth of the first tourney. I got a slight boost in the point standings. I am still 20th since i missed the first tournament.

Besides freezing my butt off in the freezing breeze (im glad i bought some thin goretex gloves the night before), I had a pretty good day overall.

I would also like to mention that this is the longest post i have ever written. ;D
