amazing day

Featured Replies

Caught the biggest fish i've ever caught. I didn't have a scale and thought it was at least 6 or 7 pounds. Then i estimate length to be 22 inches and girth to be at least 19 inches. That came out to be 8 pounds. I need some opinions. I'm tryin to get one number and thats how big i'll say it was. How big?

Looks to be about a 4.5 pounds to me.  How well did she swim off after having one of her gills ripped out?  I'm guessing not very well... :-/

Um...i got water through her gills and figured she was ready to go and swam off normal speed. I mean she swam off the same speed as the other two i caught. I was thinking since she wasn't bleeding too badly that she'd be okay.

She might be alright then. ;)  BTW, invest in a digital scale.  It will shock you to find out what some fish weigh.  I know it did me.  All those 5 and 6 pound bass I was catching turned out to be 3 and 4 pound bass.

This fish is 23inches and 17inch girth. Calculator says 8.8, it was 8lbs 13oz. Hope this comparison helps. I'd say 3 1/2  - 4 1/2 lbs.

Not a 8lb, but a nice fish non the less. Congrats!

Oh yeah, I'd say its a 4-5lb too.

i have a non-digital scale that of course i forgot to bring. then after i caught and released it i was being superstitious and afraid i wouldn't catch anymore if i went to get it. and i really didn't wanna stop fishing after that. i had another fish break off the tip of my rod and that was a big one too.
