  1. Yeah I noticed this yesterday and watched him for a half hour. I was throughly confused. Thanks for clearing it up guys.
  2. Well I am going back later today. It is only an hour and a half drive. I have to come back next weekend because I actually have a fishing tournament with my local club.
  3. Thanks yall. Hit the spot again at about 6:30pm and caught one within 5 minutes that was about 2 or 3 lbs.
  4. Well I was home from college for the weekend and was looking for a chance to go fishing. The day started off cloudy with some sprinkles and then the sun started to come out around 1. I went out to this local neighborhood farm pond which always has some decent sized bass. Lately, the fishing there had been a little slow with the fish being few and far between. We finally have had a few weeks of warm weather. I get there and fish around a few spots. I finally zone in on a corner where there was a lot of action on the top of the water. I'm throwing a Zero Gravity jig (if you want info on it PM me, its not like any normal jig). I manage a bite and I seem to hook him but I guess I didn't hook him well enough. I get a second bite and as I set the hook a weak spot in the line snaps. I am absolutely devastated. So I wasn't stopping there, I tie on black and blue finesse jig with a blue trailer. I start to throw to the same spot and manage two more bites but the same thing that happened on the first bite happens again...both times. I move down the bank, decide to throw to some structure and manage about a 2 lb 5 oz. and I'm feeling a little better. I move back to my original spot, get a bite, and a solid hookset. All of a sudden she takes off, I manage to free my spool and work her with my thumb. I worked her around, and started to realize how big she was (well how big she was to me). I got her to the bank as I was shaking and she weighed in at 5 lb 14 oz. It's weak in comparison to some of y'all but I don't get to fish on lakes a lot. Biggest fish of my life. Seems like the fishing is heating up here in central NC.
  5. Agreed. Hybrid.
  6. Good grief yall are gettin bit hard. I just fished in a tournament on my local lake and i got a feeling i'm gonna get bit soon after losing a few in that tourney.
  7. But have no doubt though, it is a really great swimbait. I've caught many fish on a swim senko. Very good around brush and lay down logs.
  8. Going to a local fishing club meeting. I did this just recently and also fished in one of their tournaments and had a blast. Just going to the meeting and fishing that one day tournament I learned a ton about fishing. Hopefully I'll be fishing with this club more and maybe start fishing different tournaments.
  9. BPS without a doubt. The BPS brand baits are much higher quality than Cabelas. BPS has a much better selection too.
  10. I used the Rage Tail Shad on a trip down to Florida. I was basically junk fishing in a pretty big pond and didn't get a single hit. The action was good but I couldn't seem to keep it consistent.
  11. I got the Ardent Reel butter kit from BPS. It came w/ degreaser, lube, grease, swabs and a brush. I should've returned mine b/c the stuff always leaked into the kit. And i saw that the lube kept leaking so now i just keep them out of the case. If you get a good kit that has no leaking its really really helpful.
  12. 7' BPS Graphite Series/ KVD Signature Series Quantum 6'6" BPS Tourney Special/ Diawa Megaforce 6'6" BPS Tourney Special/ Pfluger Echeleon 6'6" BPS Tourney Special/ BPS Extreme 6'6" Diawa Megaforce/ Quantum Snapshot
  13. first of all i wouldn't right in all caps. running texas rig down the wood and through weeds is what i'd do.
  14. I've used it for a couple years as well. I love the big spools and how cheap they are. For the money its the best you can buy. Low memory and doesn't get frayed easily. Sufix isn't too bad and i use that occasionally. But the majority of my line is bps excel.
