Reel lubricants, too exspensive. Any dood ones reasanably priced?
Wow.I was going to buy a good oil and grease for my reels. I was astonished. $4.99 to $7.99 for .75 oz of oil or grease. There should be some tried and true lubricants that work well and are reasonably priced. Anyone care to chime in on this and tell us what you use and are happy with that is reasonably priced?

Horse and buggy question..
My wife and me got into a discussion about horse and buggies. People would carry a weight in a buggy to ground tie the horse when lacking something more suitable. Does anyone know what that weight was called?

Are graphite reels really bad?
I have to agree that if you drop a graphite reel on a concrete driveway and it lands just right it might be damaged. I think if you drop just about anything on a concrete driveway and it lands just right,it also might be damaged. What else is perceived to be wrong with them?

Are graphite reels really bad?
I have to say the bulk of the fish I hook are 1 to 6 pound fish. These fish do not challenge my line, rod, or reel in any way. Graphite reels work just fine for me. Why the big knock against them?

Do you have to change centrifugal brake everytime.....
Do you have to remove the side plate and adjust a centrifugal brake when you change lure weights. If not, what controls spool over spin that causes backlash. Do you need a better educated thumb? Is there a preference in brakes by the fisherman fraternity?

Lightniong rods
I have a Lightning 7ft med hvy rated to 1 1/4 oz. There is no denying that it is heavier than premium rods. There also no denying that it is a strong rod that handles heavier bait well. Not every rod in you arsenal should be as light as you can get. Strong generally means heavier and that ain't all bad.

Shimano reels..best bang for the bucks!
Let's talk Stradic,Saros, and Symtre. Should I get a Stradic and be glad I spent the money or will one of the other two make me very happy ? And yes money is an issue.

How long the spool spins, good test, yes or no.
I guess I am like everyone. When I pick up a bait caster or spinning reel I spin the handle to see how long the spool or bail spins. Is this a valid test.

What fishing line?
Your 17# Trilene is just fine. No matter what line you buy you will be second guessing yourself. I use good old Stren original or Trilene XL and don't worry about it. I do have one BC rigged heavy. It is rigged with Trilene big game #20 test. Stop worrying about minutia in fishing line. Learn to cast. Learn to rig for various fishing. Learn to cast. In short learn to fish. Good quality mono still does a wonderful job.

Who do you guys think is the best guitar player?
Consider, Jose Feliciano.

How far should I be able to cast?
What is considered good casting distance for a spinning reel,,say 2500 size,8# line, 3/8 oz lure on a 7 foot rod. How about a casting reel,7 foot rod, any decent reel, and 14# line,5/8 oz lure? This would be with normal casting effort.

Eating whild rabbit.
Hot or cold weather has nothing to do with it. A rabbit taken in 80 degree weather is just as good as one taken in cold weather. I have eaten wild rabbit for 50 years and do not worry about it. The rabbit taken in warm weather is bad is wrong. Look for spots on the liver,no spots, good bunny. They can have spots in 0 degree weather. If a human or animal has a disease it does not go away because the weather turns cold. If that was true everyone who had cancer or TB would move to North Dakota.
