Gave my 3lber to a Kid

Featured Replies

I was fishing Friday afternoon in my boat near a dam and there was a young man standing beside it.  He started asking me every question you could think of about fishing.  He seemed like a nice kid and was very interesed in fishing, he looked to be about 8 years old.

I hooked into a good one and it jumped right in front of him - his eyes lit up and he started talking even faster.  I asked him if he would like to reel it in.  I let out some line and made my way over to him.  I gave him my rod and he played the fish like a pro.  It weighed just over 3 lbs.  You would have thought I gave him a million bucks!

I think I got just as much fun watching my little friend catch that fish.

The fishing Gods rewarded me later with a 4.14 later in the day.

Good for you!   Its a lot of fun watching a kid catching a nice bass.

Cool story. I bet that made his day

Thats cool man. I remember thats how I got started in bass fishing. I didn't really know what it felt like to catch a nice bass. I would crappie fish a lot because they were very easy to catch. But ever since my dad handed me that rod with a 4 pounder on it I've been bass fishing. They are just a lot more fun than crappie. So you could of just made that kid a fisherman for a lifetime.

I am 57 years old and the most vivid memories of my childhood are of kind things that people did for me.  I guarantee you that boy will remember what you did for the rest of his life.
