5/18/08 Sunday trip with Hunt N fish

Featured Replies

We took the boat out today for some morning top water action, ended up staying out 11 hours on the water. We caught 8 fish total, I ended up getting outfished by Hunt N fish, another board member. Odd thing was the water temp was 86 degrees, yet i saw a ton of fish still on the beds spawining. Whats up with that isnt it a little late for Bass to be spawining in South Florida? heres some pictures the biggest of the day went 4 lbs.

The bedding fish were probably Peacocks.    11 hours on the water in this heat!  U CRAZY, and your buddy is in jeans!!!!!!!

Good outing though.

great trip man.  y'all whacked 'em for sure.

The lake you are fishing, is very tough to fish in the warmer months,  I havn't figured it out yet either    ??????  (As you remember I live on that system)  As far as the bedding fish allot of them are peacocks and blue tilapia.

Yea after 11 hours in the scorching sun with temps in the high 90's we were starting to get a little crazy.

Thanks for the compliments guys, these fish were not peacocks and blue tilapia. They were Definetly Large Mouth Bass.

If you want i can post that one picture of me with the sun hat holding my Hawg?  Remeber the 4 pounder i caught.

Tilapia are bedding like crazy right now. I used to mistake them for bass all the time.

These definetly were not Tilapia, These were LARGE bass. You see if someone told me Bass were bedding in South Florida right now id think they were seeing tilapia and peacock too. But seeing it for myself i just dont get it.
