Local Base Housing Pond

Featured Replies

I fished in my local pond that nobody fishes and I got a nice one, I usually catch three or four this big but no big ones yet, cavitron buzzbaits in white/ghost minnow and rage tail shad, produce best, anyways,,

The rage tail shad in the smokey shad color was on point a nice 2lb bass nailed it and you can see it sticking out of the bass's mouth, also a closeup of the  Yo-Zuri 12lb Smoke Purple, I like it,

I was used to P-Line Flurocarbon, and this line casts farther and has much more strength,

What is a good easy "walk the dog" topwater, I can't do it very well, maybe a spook, what is the easiest of easy ones?? THANKS !!!

The "pond that nobody fishes" are the type I'm always looking for ;)...

Good goin Backwoods, and I like the P line floro as well, it's real smooth.

You could try a Luck Craft Sammy as well.  I personally think that the bigger sizes are easier to learn how to "walk".  Also, try rigging it with a snap to the bait eye, or tying a Rapala Knot.

I think one of the biggest keys is learning to give the bait a bit of slack after you twitch it, so it will actually slide to the side, instead of just constantly pulling the bait forward.  Hope that helps!
