Having the skills to catch fish outside your own 'hood

Featured Replies

Not too much bass fishing at the place I was staying at in Stuart, FL.

Diawa Inshore+Heavy Bionic Blade+One Sick Lure=A bunch of different fish that I wasn't expecting to catch!!!

One of at least 15 of these juvenile barracuda's I caught... some were strong fighters. Pulled in right on the beach

Me with the biggest of 4 Spanish Mackerel I caught, and had for dinner. Fought really hard, called that it was a big snook. Caught right on the beach.

One of a few small snooks (fight extremely hard) I caught off the shore at the ICW

The ONLY lure I used the whole trip. Yo-zuri Mag Minnow (beat up by toothy fish)

They are a lot scarier when you are swimming and suddenly notice the pack,...sittting dead still up near the surface and you realize you have your silver bracelet on.

TIP_ Do not wear jewelry in Barracuda water.  Seriously.

Nice fish. Those Spanish are good eating.

I hope you didn't keep that Snook, season is closed and it's too small.  Nice mackeril though.  I'm surprised you got one this time of the year.  The barracuda is 10x better eating though,IMO.

I know all about the closed snook season, but I always release snook anyways because they remind me too much of bass. I went online to see about eating the little 'cuda but your not supposed to eat them because of ciguatera poisoning.

Hey LC,

How do like that Diawa Costal? I've been thinkin about getting one.

It is way more corrosion resistant than I thought it would be. It also has a magnetic brake if you take off the side plate. I like it a lot. Plus it is a bargain.
