Just seeing if it's ok to store soft plastic swim baits in Plano boxes. I plan on putting some Matt Shads, some Berkley Hollow Bellies, some ABTs, some River 2 Seas, and a few others in there. I don't know if any of these can be ruined in the boxes and I don't want to waist money losing them. I just need a better way of storing them rather then using a bag and leaving them in their original boxes. I did loose a ABT Soft Wagtail by leaving it in its original box. The tail was bent in the box and now it is permanently like that and won't run straight.

My swimbaits are stored in a cooler where I rigged wires to hang them from. There are tackle boxes that are made just for swimbaits and that is really what you need. They need to hang so they keep their shape. Most swimbaits can be boiled in hot water and brought back to the original shape. Your Wagtail isnt ruined, I hope you didnt throw it away.

Boil some water and hold that bait in there, up to the eyes, for a minute or so.  Then submerse the bait in cool tap water and the plastic should correct itself.

For your box situation, go to Tackle Warehouse and look for Markey's swimbait boxes.  Cheapest option for you.  There are some specialty boxes (typically designed for musky fishing) that will cost you an arm and a leg, but are worth it if you have the baits to fill them.
