Featured Replies

ok guys im back from my trip and it was awesome to get out and go fishing...ok so heres the report from the last 2 days. well saturday we got out on time to get the topwater bite. i had my rage shad all ready and my wife went to park the truck and trailer and she parks right where i tell her not to in all this sand thats about 3 feet deep but my tundra is only 2 wheel drive so she gets majorly stuck. she said i see people park there all the time im like ya cuz they got 4 wheel drive but anyway, so just as the sun is rising a guy helped us get out and we go to our first cove and immediately she catches two bass right in one spot flipping her new favorite bait the *** ***....she said ( its like a senko in michigan you can always catch fish on it). so i miss quite a few bites on that and thats all the fish we catch that morning. later that day i decide to go out and she doesnt want to so i decide im going to just throw the rage tail..because ive been gettting some monster hits on this thing. i go to a differnt cove from the morning and start getting some crazy hits and i keep missing them i wait till i feel them or watch them take it under and run but kept missing them, but i ended up catching one about 10inches long on it.... so that was saturday.

Sunday.... sunday we get up and theres a huge rainstorm and windy as heck so we pack up all our stuff in the truck and about to leave and im llike lets go over to the lake and see how windy it is cuz it had stopped raining. we get there and its really calm im like well were going out then. we get out there and i start throwing the rage cuz its really over cast. i get a monster hit and nail the fish its a beast get it out of the bushes reel it up 20ft from the boat and he comes unbuttoned i was extremely mad. two casts later i catch a 10incher on the shad. we come into this really big cove with a point right in the middle of it because it is seperated by this point. i set up on the point with a net bait 4" finesse worm and a picasso shakey head jig and first cast nail a 14incher finally a keeper..we go back into one arm of the cove nothing at all back there...switch to the other side and get one on the rage tail shad about 13inches and so try that some more and nothing i end up losing my last one. so we go back to the point set up and catch an extreme dink on the net bait finesse worm....i wanted to keep fishing a buzzbait in some differnt coves but my wife wanted to leave so i didnt get to... i know i could have got more topwater bites but oh well i plan on going one more time before winter thanks for reading.

oh and by the way the rage tail shad is my new favorite topwater bait...i have never caught a bass on topwater in new mexico until this weekend. or had a hit.
