  1. Shimano Citica D Citca E Curado E Chronarch Mg love them all.
  2. For a lot of people buying a rod/reel is a big purchase, it is easier to go with what you know. That way there are less surprises. I only have shimano reels bc the first baitcaster i bought was shimano and the value was great. But if the right deal came up I am certainly not opposed to trying something else. However the right deal recently just happened to be a chronarch For rods I have a mix, shimano, st. croix, BPS...But once again now that I have used these rods if I needed another I would most likely look to what I know first.
  3. Report him to the IRS, he probably isn't including these funds in his tax returns.
  4. casting a spinning reel is not hard... However casting a push button is a pain in the ***.
  5. you should add pics, it would make it even more epic. good post.
  6. im going to fish talquin tomorrow for the first time.
  7. Ive actually been heating up on lipless cranks lately.
  8. i have both and given the choice for the same price i would grab the CH50mg again. I prefer the weight and the gear ratio of the 50mg. Im using it with 12# hybrid and i dont forsee a problem with line capacity. As far as pluses for the E7, the bigger handles are more comfortable and the ergonomics are slightly better for palming.
  9. well i have the 50mg and love it and i also have that rod, but i did not pair them together. I put the 50mg on a crankin stick bc it casts light baits like a dream and is light itself. For my EC68MXF i have a curado 200E7 and it has worked great as my plastics rod. I have never tried the revos though.
  10. Shimano Clarus ive seen them for 35-40$ Or the BPS crankin stick if you need a treble rod 40$
  11. ive caught a bunch of dinks....hmm reminds of me of last year
  12. that's a good deal, i just got some 12# for 11.99 for 600yd. so yeah...
  13. I just bought one of those BPS crankin sticks, i like it for the money, im also a fan of the powerhump for casting continuously.
  14. the compres MSRP for $90 but you can get them for about $60 and they are an excellent rod.
  15. I use my XF for senkos/worms. Another thread on the matter: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1230963076/11#11
  16. I like them all...all the shimanos that is.
  17. so you were playing with your reel and the spool slipped out and into the water.....ouch.
  18. I would probably exchange it too, unless you fish the good one and decide the performance is worth it.
  19. I had been avoiding *** like the plague, then I went to my local fishing store where I had a $100 giftcard. The 50mg's were on sale for $169 and there were only 2 left.......I can neither confirm nor deny whether I left with said reel in hand.
  20. guys, he is in WV=west virginia.
  21. So that is a pretty desperate situation fishing Maclay Gardens dock... There is one place I shore fish from sometimes. It is off of Maclay Rd. and is a small drainage pond about 2-3 acres big. It is directly behind the Fresh market and you have to go through the woods to get there, but it is visible from Maclay road. It is only maybe a quater mile from the entrance to Maclay gardens on the left side of the road. Anyways I used to always see cars parked there so one day I stopped and walked the shore, I saw a few 3-4 lbs bass while walking around. It is severely covered with hydrilla so it is tough to fish but I have caught bass there. I either flip a senko or use a topwater frog or buzzbait. And you might know better then me how to catch them in such slop. Anyways try it out, its got to be better then Maclay gardens dock. I have also heard good things about walking the shore at the lakes in summerbroke. The only thing is that there are signs everywhere saying residents only. But if you are older ppl probably wont question you, they see a college kid and assume im breaking things or disrespecting property. Also you can park your car at the Summerbroke country club so its not obvious. EDIT* i missed the part where you said legally. The drainage pond is completely legal, it just looks like it may be part of the private neighborhood. Summerbroke...well its up to you, how desperate are you? ;D
