February has been a really good month for me. I have not landed that lunker yet but I have caught a lot 3s and 4s, a few 5s and a six. Most of these have been on jerkbaits and traps.

Yesterday, I started out early with a good jerkbait bite then all of a sudden they shut off! I couldn't buy a bite.....I decided to throw on a PB&J Eakins Jig with a paca trailer. I fish this jig hard with only one dink in a few hours. On two occasions, good sized fish tried to grab it at the boat. Soooooooo, I decided to fish the same structure but to swim it. THATS ALL IT TOOK! I can't believe how much of a difference it made. I ended up catching 15 or so nice bass off the exact same structure i had fished before. This is a technique i do not use often and wouldn't have tried if I didn't see those 2 fish chasing it to the boat. The Eakins Jig saved the day
