Slow night on Boone

Wife and I went over yesterday evening.  Took the in-laws out for their first bassboat ride for a while, dropped them off at the ramp and then started looking for fish.

First creek didn't produce, but that was pretty much a repeat of last week's trip.  Second creek produced right off the bat.

Hope I can get five like that Saturday night.  Caught it on a Rattlehead spinnerbait.

Didn't want to soremouth them, so I tried a few new areas in the creek.  Got another one pretty quickly in the first spot I hit.  Didn't measure.

Ran back down the lake after a while, hit a couple of points and pulled this one in.

It was 1/2" short.

Tried a couple more spots down towards the dam, got one more on the spinnerbait, but my wife was asleep and couldn't run the camera.   ;)

Headed back to the ramp and fished around the cove for a bit.  Trying a buzzbait, threw it in a tree.  Went over to try to free it when I saw a pair of eyes on the bank.  The ramp area is full of coons.  My buzzbait was stuck about 20' up in a pine tree (bank was closer than I thought).  I'm yanking, trying to pull it free.  I see the coon start climbing a tree, didn't think anything of it.  Next thing I know, he's on the limb with my bait giving it a good look.

Hard to snap the camera, pull on the line and keep the TM out of the rocks at the same time.  This is the best shot I got of him.

I was hoping he could use his wonderfully dexterous fingers to free my buzzbait, but he just wanted to check it out.

Saturday night is going to be interesting.

Saturday night is going to be interesting.

Just pack the .410 and a dog and distract Jonathan with chasing the coons.

Easy there Burley....that first fish is a little over 'dink' size.

And what happened to your super cool 'stache? Time for a screen name change?

That first pic looks sweet.  Dude, you gotta rock the handlebars!

Like to see you have that lake figured out by the tourney.  Bring home a "W". ;)

What happened to the stache?

Nice catch there Burley. Did you say you were practising for a tourny?

Yep, Saturday night...

Bull's got the right item on sidetracking Johnathan.   Wish the wife wasn't about to pop so I could join you all Saturday night.  I may end up playing softball all day now though.
