Kentucky Lake Sept 19th

Featured Replies

We had a GREAT day today. The early morning bite was kind of slow actually. We started out throwing topwater close to where we had seen schools of shad in the mouth of the bays we were fishing. We caught a couple but it was realy slow. Around midday I decided we should go hit a mainlake shoreline that I knew had some grass and WOW did that pay off. The grass was thicker than I ever remember it being and it was loaded with quality fish. We went back and forth down about a mile long stretch of bank and really hammered them. Around 3 or 4 the sun actually broke out and the bite slowed. We picked up a few more here and there on an assortment of different lures. Anyhow, here are a couple of pics from a great outing yesterday. I hope ya'll have been on 'em too!

I guess I can part with that info, lol! We hit the grass mats with toads.  Between the 2 of us we had 3 full packs of zoom horny toads and 1 pack of rage tails shads and we ran out of all of them if thats any indication of how many we caught.  Once the toads were all ripped to shreds I threw a white super fluke at them and picked up a few more.  95% of our fish were caught on the toads/shads.  I also lost a couple 5+ pounders at the boat due to my net guy missing them.  I jokingly told him he was fired, after the 2nd one jumped off at the boat.  Really great day though!

Nice smallie!!

Are you fishing in the Tennessee portion of Ky Lake? I haven't seen any grass up north since last year. I am jealous.

Theres grass in the lake, you just have to find it. I had about the same success a little further south then where bassinsoldier was probably at, missed a few good fish Saturday morning and couldn't get them to hit anything but a Rage Shad.

fishing bays and mainlake shorelines close to the bridge on the other side of the lake from Paris Landing.  South end of the lake is LOADED with grass right now.

WTG Joe, figured you would run into a thunder of fish on those grass lines sometime this Fall
