Ouch

Featured Replies

I was at the local spot yesterday, and threw on a crank bait made a few long casts, then all of a sudden felt dead weight.  I was like, oh my, this is going to be a good one.  When I finally was able to see what was on the end of my line, I noticed this.  I sure hated that I hooked it liked this, this seemed kind of painful as when I pulled it out of the water, the mouth was wide open.  Heal up well lil feller

Must have been a slow bass. Don't worry about it looking painful, he didn't feel a thing.

It's fine, this happens a lot. He'll be alright.

Any bait with trebles is gonna eventually hook a bass outside of the mouth. I have caught bass with a treble through the eyeball!! :o

This has happened to me, too.

Fish swam off like nothing happened.  :)

Happens quite often with cranks, jerks, and topwaters.

For some odd reason that happens alot to me when I am fishing lipless cranks.  Anyway, the fish will be fine man, I'm sure of it... don't sweat it.

You'll get a lota tail slaps that imbed the trebles into their sides while topwater fishing.  I"ve had them pop the bait 2 or 3' off the top of the water trying to kill it before.
