Your Biggest of 2009.....So far

Featured Replies

What's your biggest fish of the year so far? Post a picture and tell the story behind it!

Here's mine: http://s709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/Fat-G-2009/?action=view&current=NewPB029.jpg

The story: Cold, rainy day, about 50 degrees. I was pitching a jig around an old fallen tree, not really paying attention, and this baby hit. When I looked for my line, it was rapidly swimming away, so I reeled up and set the hook, but I was snagged. Wait! Snags don't swim!

My year has SUCKED.  Started a new project on New Year's Eve 2008, and we're still not done with it so I haven't spent nearly as much time on the water as I wanted to.

Although I actually have gotten out on the water the past 2 weekends in a row... :)

Any my big fish for the year, a meager 4-8, came last weekend fishing a bone Super Spook Jr. over a point.

Good fish guys. I typically don't carry a camera with me on my fishing trips. Its not something that I'm noy worried about as a tournament fisherman. But I have been fortunate to catch an 8lber earlier this semester from an awesome pond. Thats not common for me. I fish the Alabama River alot and have caught more than a dozen 4lbers out of there this year. Every year I get better at catching those bigguns. Thanks for letting me brag a bit  :D

But great catches guys. Yall keep bringing pics of those big fish.
