South miami outing

Featured Replies

got out for a few hours today ,from 9am to noon. wasnt too bad. i managed a few dinkers on 5" trick sticks and 8" taper tails (these things have serious action!!). stood around in some shallow water and managed to land another one. i felt something biting my feet and thought it was some of those angry baby bass .... nope! leaches. :o both my feet were covered with 20 bugs each. so i ran out the water , probably scared every fish in the lake and picked em off. it was my first time seeing one in person and on me so i was a bit startled.

after that fun experience , i went over to another local lake where i lost a decent sized bass. stood around in the water making casts, i look down , and my friends are back eating my feet and legs. plucked those guys off, threw a trick stick in watermelon , and landed a 2lb largemouth. made a few casts after , then called it a day.

fun times.

the dinks were crazy hungry today. i had one almost swallow the hook and 5" trick stick... i was able to get it out using the gut hook method and he swam away just fine. crushing the barb down helps with this.
