Unskunked!!! Finally...

Featured Replies

Went out this morning and went straight to a creek that runs in on the north end of the lake.  No takers on spinnerbaits.  Started pitchin a watermelon Yo Moma and got one, then I got another good one on a blue fleck Power Worm a while later.  My buddy didn't get any.  Not a great day but considering I was workin on a 2month long skunk I was happy.  But the best part was having three different tournament angles (south forty shootout) stop and ask my advice, baits, color everything.  Was a nice morning on the lake, gonne try it again tomorrow.  Sorry for the bad cell phone pics, two guys in an 8' buster so my buddy was right on top of me.  These fish were short but they were fat and healthy.  Thanks for lookin!!

Nice! Always feels good to break the skunkings. Nice looking water too.

How close to shore were they?

Very very very very close!!  I mean right up in that junk, just like they were last summer.  The bigger of the two, was literally under the boat too.  A guy told me there was a good one by this one log, he had hooked it but couldn't get it to bite again.  Than another guy pulled in and tried his luck at that fish.  I stuck around and after he left I moved in and caught it on first try.  I dropped my Power worm right down alongside the boat and this log, wack!  I think the tournament guy was mad!  If you come out of this creek there is about a hundred acre bay area that is totally lined with heavy flooded timber.  Last year the fish stayed up in that shallow thick stuuf, even when it was 100 plus degrees!!!  Makes for some easy fishin really.

Congrats on breaking your skunk streak.

Now you are on a new streak.

Keep it going.  :)

Congrats on the un-skunking. I didn't get my first 2010 bass until a few weeks ago. Thought it would never happen!
