Charlie Moore comes to South Beach and the Everglades

Featured Replies

Last month Charlie Moore from the ESPN2 hit "Beat Charlie Moore" came to South Beach in Miami. The South Florida everglades bass fishing and the night life of south beach was the backdrop for a new episode of "Beat Charlie Moore". I was given a set of possible dates....which I had already booked for bass charters by some Canadians and fellas from Tenn. After a few phone calls and some schedule shuffling I had everyone happy. Game on!

Over the years I have had many interesting people in the boat but Charlie Moore "MadFish" was by far the most entertaining. After being with Charlie for two days I felt like I had started a abdominal crunch routine...I mean I laughed so hard so long that I was was in pain for several days.

This was the third time that I was able to be a guest on "Beat Charlie Moore" and the most fun for me. The first show we went swordfishing off Miami Beach. The second show we were snooking off Apollo Beach. This time he was on my home court, the Florida Everglades and Florida black bass was the target species. Charlie and I fished against two mechanics both of whom have been my friends for many years. One of them, Jason Miller of LaBelle Fl., wanted my head on a stick and the other, Keith McClendon of Hattiesburg Ms., is a huge fan of the "Beat Charlie Moore" show as well as a competitive angler on the "Fishers of Men" tournament trail. Both boats caught a ton of fish real quick. If you have seen Charlies show before you know he usually waits until he catches his first fish before lighting up a cigar. Lets just say he was smoking within minutes. It was a five fish tournament and boy was it close! The loser had too.........well you'll just have to catch it on ESPN2 one Saturday morning in the near future.

Day two was "Charlie Moore Outdoors" for the NESN (New England Sports Network). I have never seen this show but it was the show that launched Charlies' career. This was just Charlie and his wife Angela fishing. She was a real trooper. Charlie had told her they were going to "Sunny South Florida". The weather went south and it was fifty degrees and raining all day.... just miserable weather. They fished for a four hours and I can say she caught as many fish as he did. Here they are doubled up again.

I have known Charlie for five years and would like yall to know he is dedicated to his wife and 3 kids and extremely loyal to his employees, friends and sponsors. I would also say that he is an entertainer and business man who just happens to fish.

LOL, You picked the wrong website to post up Charlie Moore stuff, and especially a website with a lot of New Englanders. I truly cannot stand that guy, you should see him after he gets beat by a couple of 17 year olds without film crews around :-X   .

On the contrary, this is a bass fishing forum, I am a member and this was a recent outing. I had done plenty of reading (search tool) on this forum before I posted and sorta figured I would get blasted on this thread.......but I posted anyway. I have never been one to swim is a school.

Nice post.  Not everyone in New England hates charlie.  I enjoy a good laugh every time I watch his show.

You are correct sir.  I am in Pennsylvania (obviously not New England) and I hate Charlie Moore.

It's worldwide.   ;D

I would love to have him come out and fish with me.

I live in NH and occasionally tune in to Charlie Moore's show. I usually turn the channel after 10 minutes or so. Im not a huge fan but to each his own.
