My Fanny Hurts

Fishing in a tournament on Saturday when I hooked into a nice 2-pounder.

Since I was using a crankbait I should have waited for my partner to get the net, but I didn't and I lifted her out of the water and into the boat fast and with some power behind the move.

Only problem was that I lost my balance and started to fall down.

Realizing that I was gong down and not wanting to fall out of the boat, I grabbed the seat as I went down, fell on my back, and had the rod straight up in the air with the bass swinging back and forth by my face as I lay on my back.

My partner was yelling at me to keep the fish in the boat.  So I dropped the rod tip and the bass fell on the floor by the consoles.

Partner never asked if I was OK.  Just keep that fish in the boat.

Did not realize that I bruised myself when I went down until last night when I got home.

We ended up in 4th place.

So were my antics saving that fish worth the bruise?

Of course.  No ifs, ands or butts about it.  :D   :D   :D

;D ;D ;D

Great save!

....the things we'll do to catch a fish..... :-? ::)

No pics? Can you replay that for us on YouTube?

I am glad i am not the only one. Great job. My first summer fishing trip to Minnesota last year, the first fish that bit got me so excited that i gave every ounce of strength and cooped up energy from the 20 hour drive and set the hook like a mad men. Well, i did not brace myself and was sitting at the front guiding the trolling motor and literally did a back flip into the center console and did not land on my feet but everything else in the boat. And of course on the way down scarred up my shin on the aluminum edge leading up to the front of the boat. Legs bleeding, pride completely gone, and got the fish in. It was also only 2 pounds. However, this one was not worth the circus act

WTG Sam, Sounds like an adventure to me     Let's see, you took a spill when fishing a tourney....land in your boat and not in the water.....you land the fish and it was a keeper.....placed high in the tourney because of it.....Uhhhh, Sounds like your partner had his priorities right to me! Was he smilin'  ;D

I'd much rather have a sore butt from an incident like that, than to have one from sittin' on it all day and not catchin'em   :)

Good story and hope you're doin OK now
