Lanier & the High Power Herring

Featured Replies

Got up to Lanier yesterday 4-2-10 and fished a tourney out of Balus creek and threw the High Power Herring all day and we came in 3rd and had Big Fish with a 4.20 spotted bass. You gotta go thru some stripers aswell. Hope to get back up there soon.

nice 3rd place finish!

Nice catch, Dawg!!!!  That swimbait is freakin whackin em' all over the country.  Randall is a good dude and obviously makes a hell of a bait.

If you don't mind sharing, how deep of water were you fishing?  Were they suspended out over deep water or were you cranking the shallow water?  What setup are you throwing it on?  I use the Powell 7'3" MH rod with a Revo STX and 17lb flouro?  Was it the floater, slow sink, or fast sink?

We were throwing the new $35 slow sink model on 7'10" okuma with a 7-0-0 quantum catalyst PT lined with 65#power pro. I break mono cause I have been told I set the hook to hard LOL.Can't remember the depth or retrive ;D so ask me in person if you make it to a HVBA tourney this year. Thanks for the replies and yes it will hold up to the presure of those big stripers.
