Opening day!

Team format, best five fish per boat, fishing limited to Little Sodus Bay only.

Winds were out of the south, making the bay pretty choppy. However, all boats were able to bring a limit to the weigh in. These bays can all fish tough in these conditions, and add in many other boats out fishing opening day, along with the pleasure boaters that this popular destination attracts, and you got a wild day on the water.

Three ounces separated the top three finishers

Bill L. and Guy P. brought in a respectable mixed bag, Guy P. catching the ONLY smallie brought to the scales for third. Very odd, since this is smallie central, LOL. I hear all their fish were caught on jigs in weeds - what's new.

Terry B. and John F. came in to the scales with one ounce more fish than the third place finishers. John fished hard swimbaits and big vibration baits, while Terry worked to keep the boat straight in the chop and high winds. Terry did manage to catch a 3-0 LMB, the biggest in our creel, on a weighted Senko.  Terry sacrificed much of his fishing to keep the boat steady for me to fish our spot off the back.

Web L. and new guy Felix broke Web's new boat in by beating out the rest by a slim margin of two ounces.
