Starting to get the hang of it

Featured Replies

I went out this evening after work around 7:30 to a small pond I have fished before. I don't think there are any lunkers in it but I know there are fish. Anyway I started out using a Mepps Black Fury with no luck, switched to a Pop R seeing that the water was really calm. Nothing going on there either. I was about to switch to something else when I noticed that there were fish jumping around a very small fountain or filter, whatever, so I figured "if the fish are there, then that's where I should be." So I t-rigged a Blk/blueflake Senko and threw it right next to the filter/fountain, I was fully prepared to fish it ssssllllloooooowwww when no sooner did it hit the bottom that my line started moving . I gave it a second then set the hook and finally caught a SMB. :D Definitely a "dink" but it was a fish all the same. Starting to understand a little more on how to do this. :) Baby steps, Baby steps!

Have you ever had luck with the Black Fury?

I've tried and tried with one, on a lake that I have caught hundreds of bass, but never caught any with this lure.

Alot of people forget how important your eyes are when fishing. If you haven't already, invest in a pair of polarized sunglasses. Also you didn't get stuck on one presentation and you changed it up.
