Unbelievable!

Featured Replies

I'm home from school so I went to the lake today. Didn't have a whole lot of luck caught a couple alright bass but nothing special. So I decided I would make one more cast then head home. I threw out and when I was pulling it back in what happened was totally unexpected! A Snake shot up out of the water and latched on! Who else you know that could catch a snake on a 5in senko! lol. Im not a snake guy so needless to say I cut the line. And when he shot up on the bank I was out!

Yes, I have seen snakes go after crankbaits but never a plastic offering.

Funny story.

Had it happened to me I would have cut the line and gotten out of there, too.

You should have tossed out there amongst some Lilly pads and waited for that 12 pounder to hit.

Same thing happened to my son and I yesterday evening.  I threw a 6" black/blue flake senko onto a grass bed and before I knew what happened, and snake grabbed it and took off fast as lightning.

Didn't get hooked though -- he grabbed the end of a wacky rigged senko, pulled it off the hook and took off with it hanging out of his mouth.

My son said it best: "I'm glad we didn't hook it... don't know what we would have done since you can't lip a snake!"

Awww! Definitely something you don't expect. In a way it was a reality check because me and my brother always wear shorts and are so nonchalant in walking/standing/sitting in the tall grass, up against bushes etc around the lake. That was the first snake I've ever seen there.
