Sorry guys, I thought I put this up.  Must have slipped my mind, but I think its important to share, given some of the press about this lake lately.

Lake Champlain was all about dealing with the wind!  That's all I can say.  It was very windy, and although the bite was tough, there were VERY good fish to be found.  Brutus and I led after day one, with over 14 lbs. in the well, but simply could not find our last two fish on day two.  Our jig and creature bite evaporated.  Looking back with 20/20 vision, I should pulled out the flick shake rig.  Oh well...

Results after day one:

I can't believe Nguyen knocked my 4-9 off the lunker bonus!  He's caught more 5+ lb. fish than I can remember anyone catchin in our club.

Final results:

Lunker: 5-2 LMB by Nguyan and Gary f.

3rd Place: Brutus and I managed just enough to stay in the money with three fish, bringing our total weight to 23-4.

2nd Place: Web L. and George F. had a consistent frog bite bringing a two day weight of 23-8.

1st Place: Big surprise, Bill L. and Ron W. finished strong with 12 lbs. on day two to bring their winning total to 25-14.

Some great fishing, great stories, and plenty of worn out trolling motor batteries.

Web and George with some nice looking fish.

My two days....both started out slow for Brutus and I, but we stuck to our guns, and kept with our plan.  We pitched jigs and creatures in 6-8 FOW where HEALTHY milfoil grew alongside HEALTHY coontail.  Lose this combo, and you were in a bass desert it seemed.  Unfortunately, this dissolved in the last three hours of day two.  I think the fish were there, but we needed to start finessing the bite.  Live and learn, take home 3rd place trophy. ;)
