Flower City - Conesus Lake - 10/17

Ouch! With fish kills, cynobacteria blooms, and low water, we moved our final event from Sodus Bay to Conesus. Personally, I was fine with fishing Sodus. For the vote, I tossed Canadaigua as my nomination, but Conesus won out by a landslide. Too many guys' home lake.

I was looking forward to fishing this, and after seeing Noel Good's report, I was really excited. I did keep in the back of my mind that this lake will sometimes totally shut down. But that's a rare thing, fishing there is almost always great.

Well, it shut down big time, LOL.

I got four bites, one on a spinnerbait, three more on a jig. This resulted in one northern pike (spinnerbait) and one LMB. My partner Bill L. had about the same, boating one bass on a jig. Good enough for 4th, and a classic berth. Bill cinched up points for AOY. I ended the season in 2nd. Ridiculously tough day out there.

Here's the pics that tell the story:

Weigh bags, we don't need no stinkin' weigh in bags! Just bring you're one dink directly to the scale, LOL.

Nguyen was all smiles, collecting cash for lunker and 1st place.
