Big Cypress and L67-A. February 1 & 3

Featured Replies

Tuesday I made my way into the Big Cypress for a couple of hours to see if I was going to be able to get the boat in. I just barely got the Gheenoe over the rocks. Definately the last trip untill the summer rains show up. Picked up a dozen on rubber frogs and plastic worms. Not bad for 2 hours this time of the year.

Thursday I ran the L67-A off of Tamiami Trail. I ran in 12 miles and started with a small curly tail swim bait. Picked up 2 in 3 cast. Got one on a rattle trap pretty quick but my back seater(wife) was spanking me pretty hard with a Senko. I finally gave in and fished the next hour with a senko. Finished the 3 hour trip with 2 dozen, most in the 2-3# range.

Tomorrow I'll be fishing Holiday Park.

Sounds like a great trip. I like the photos - brings back memories of when I fished the canals off the Trail and Alligator Alley with my Dad in his little 12' jon back in the 60s. My dad also had an airboat so in some cases, we were back fishing sinkholes way out in the boonies...

The good old days...
