Im fishing on a reef in palos verdes, i just decided to start fishing today so I just need to know some basics.

How do i set up the line (weight floater and hook)

Do i need to chum?

Whats good bait to use for Calico bass?

I saw some people catch them last time

this is a fresh water forum. You are talking salt water. I think most of these people are mid-west or Eastern fisherman. I asume you mean in Southern Calif.

Youd probly be best to go to a bait shop near were your at and ask what the fish there are hitting on and get the bait there

This is a freshwater forum. I lived in So Cal most of my life. Twin Tail grubs White and Black produce. Go to Redondo Beach, Kings Harbor they catch a bunch of Calicos out there. On the da y boats anchovys are the bomb. Goood Luck
