KVD's 11 pounder

Featured Replies

Ya, to bad they didn't get it on tape when he actually caught the fish. Did I hear right when he said he caught the fish on spinning gear, what a fight?

YES, THE E-50, THAT ONE FISH BEAT MOST OF THE OTHER ANGLER'S TOTALS FOR THE DAY

That is definitely a good fish to take to the weigh-in.....especially at an Elite 50 event. That fish can carry him thru the tournament if you know what I mean.

Yes, spinning tackle and 8 lbs. test.

I don't understand what you mean by the fish carrying him through the tournament. After the first 2 days the weights are blanked. So Kevin's 13 pound lead went away. BUT HE STILL CAME BACK TO WIN!

I forgot about the weights being zeroed.my mistake.

I should have posted this:

How's that?

does anyone know the largest bass ever caught in a b.a.s.s tournament?

I just saw the top five on TV today, but I forgot the details. But it was 13 something. This just covers the high level tours, not the Opens. I think a 14 something was caught in an FLW event.

What makes it even more impressive is that is an extremely tough lake to fish-very little cover and one of the busiest lakes in Texas for skiers and jet skis.  I've fiished that lake and know how tough it is to fish-when I saw what they were bringing to the weigh in I thought no wonder they are pros.

i'm sure a replica of that fish is going on his wall! awesome fish to catch period, let alone a tournament.

That had to be 11 pounds because they weighed live.  Somewhere on the forum I read about the bass pictures looking small in Bass magazine.  This is the smallest looking 11 pounder I have ever seen.  Go here and see if you agree

With the win, Kevin Vandam is only $60,000 off from reaching the $2 million dollar mark with BASS and FLW tournaments combined.

Here's a better pic...
