  1. Need to be a little more specific. Central Texas covers a lot of territory
  2. Welcome to the forum! Always glad to see another Ag join the fray! Old Army '83
  3. Here in south Texas "winter" is when the water temp drops below 50. We rarely have lakes/ponds freeze over but the smaller bodies of water do get ice on them at times but it does not last long.
  4. I never chart fish-not what I'm looking for. I have 2 of those units, and use then to find structure/cover the fish are around . I don;t know anyone who uses them to find fish-they use them for finding structure/cover.
  5. It varies-anywhere from 4-10 hours.
  6. Yep-I put one on one of my cranking reels-bade a big difference in how the reel handles(pardon the pun ;D)
  7. Take a look at the Bass Pro Shops Extreme combos. Great rods/reels for the $$$. Been using them for years and been real happy with them.
  8. In reality, any rod in that range will be good. AllStars are great rods.
  9. Best thing I have found for removing hooks from deeply hooked fish.
  10. I like the rubber peg it, too. That reminds me-I need to get some more
  11. I'd still take all of them. My first inclination is a suspending jerkbait, especially in water that cold.
  12. Firetiger and clown. Never caught anything on either color.
  13. I use it for all my mono applications except topwater. I absolutely love it. tough, strong, and handles like a dream. I use it on both baitcasters and spinning reels. I recommend it to anybody that asks.
  14. I like them, but don't have a problem with straight handles either. It really doesn't matter one way or the other which handle type my reel has.
