what should i fish at 2:00 2:30pm today i was thinking of picking up a jig and pig and fishing it around this boardwalk thing that people walk on to feed ducks and fish with young kids. the kids run on it and stomp on it so it could scare the fish but it is shaded for the fish so i figured its worth a try. will this work?? if so what color should i get and what weight i get and how should i fish it. we got a lot of heavy rain last night and i'm thinking the water will be murky so is a dark jig the way to go. also what type of worm should i fish in these condiontions and what color. anyother lure ideas would be greatly apreciated. thanks please reply soon.

If kids are constantly running up and down then the fish will get accustomed to the noise and vibrations so I wouldn't worry about that. Since you got the heavy rain you might want to downsize and go with a smaller jig or worm and fish it slower than usual. As for color I would try a brown/chartreuse jig.

I would go with some darker colors if the water is dirty. Some possible good choices would be brown, black and maybe watermelon.

I all ways thought the rule was darker the water darker the bait? ???

Not always. If that were the case, we wouldn't be throwing white or chartreuse spinnerbaits in stained to muddy water.

Fishingrulz, it would be difficult for us to narrow down the right color range without seeing the body of water. You can do this yourself though if you remember a few general rules of thumb. The clearer the water, the more natural colors you need to throw, but not always true. I sometimes use blue/black jigs and blue lizards with chartreuse tails  in clear water with a little stain to it with much success.
