Do I trash talk their mothers?

Featured Replies

there has been alot of talk about catching bass by making them mad.  How do you pi$$ off a fish?

If you know a fish is positioned on a particular stump or rock pile throw at the object over and over and over until the fish bites. You can do this by chunking a buzzbait or spinnerbait 20 times or more at the same laydown.

A big huge water splashin buzzbait, drill holes in the blades, bend the ends of the blades so they make a medal grindin sound.

But LBH got it that is the best way, if you throw anything in there nest the will probley hit.

Hey avid when they are shallow i like to throw a jointed rapala and keep hitting spots all around and sometimes right on top of them the trick is once you get them angry reel like ad b/c they will chase it and cream it GREAT SIGHTFISHIN

if that dosent work SEND THEM A TAX BILL ON YOUR HOOK YOU KNOW LIKE A 350.00 FEEE FOR LIVIN IN THE LAKE I KNOW IT GETS ME PI$$ED OFF ON LAND ::):o

When on beds I have also heard to use oversized tubes and big swimbaits to irratate the fish but don't use hooks on them. Once the fish gets mad flip a smaller tube in that you can get a good hook up with.

Run baits into them while they are on their beds once they get used to your bait.

Burn a big, loud double colorado spinnerbait over them

a single colorodo is better it puts out  more vibration double colorodo cancel eachother out

Buy his girlfriend a beer.  ;D

One time I was fishing for pike in a small pedal-boat and I saw a huge smallie jump in the distance. I headed over and on my way it jumped again. I tied on a spinnerbait with a big single colorado blade and started burning it everywhere I saw the fish. This ticked it off so much that it decided that it would try to ram the boat. :o It was like jaws, v-wake and everything (well, except for the big grey fin). At the last second it turned away. I'd never had a fish do anything like that before. It was kinda scary. :)

ps. I caught it about fifteen minutes later. 3.5 pounds (big one for me anyway)

Since you are a fan of the jig get a jig with 2 or 3 rattles and shake it frantically in the fishes living room that will tick them off.

One way it to suspend something in their face for a long time like dead sticking it. Another way it to pitch or cast a bait over and over again until they get mad and hit it. Another way is to use something in a bass bed that is known to eat bass eggs. Crawfish, shiners, bluegill, mud puppies, bull minnow, or anything that looks or acts like them. You make a bass bite by forcing a bass to react to your bait. You can do this by making the time frame the bass has to determine if it is hungry or if it is food shorter. You make the bass make a split decision  to eat. Usually by doing this your preying on the bass's instinct which is a bad fault they have. You are making the bass eat when they don't want to. Speed and putting the bait right into its strike zone force the bass to react. They either fight or flight. I do this a lot with jigs, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits but you can do it with any bait. The idea is to put the bait right in their face and make them bite. With drop baits you make the bait fall fast with cranks and stuff you cast the bait at a 90 degree with the boat in there strike zone and reel. Usually the first three to five feet they hit it.

With drop baits you make the bait fall fast

Never thought of that.  I have always used lighter jigs to slow the fall.  I guess what your saying here is that sometimes a heavy jig is better because it will fall faster causing a reation strike.  As usual, good stuff here.

Tell them the bait monkey just stopped by and you'll be back tomorrow with another new lure to tick them off with. ;D

My biggest bass ever (10 2) came by ticking it off. I threw a Zara Spook over the same spot 12 times before she inhaled it. Just kept throwing over a good lookin spot, until she just couldn't take it anymore!
