dropshotting
IMO flourocarbon line isn't a must but I guess if you fish really clear waters or really deep waters it would help a littel with the feel. I think you could bump the line up and eliminate breakoffs I guess. You could always do what Aaron Martens does though an fish 6lb line most of the time. The guy is only like the best on tour at it. He also will use a 6lb line diameter braid and then tie on a flourocarbon leader when fishing it for spawning bass on the delta.

dropshotting
Use a 7 foot med baitcast with 10lb line 1.4th oz weight in the cylinder style, owner downshot offset hooks in the 1/0 size, or gammie 1 dropshot hook for open water. Or use a 7 foot med light or med spinning rod and reel with 10lb or 6lb line. 6lb equals more bites but more misses and breakoffs.

Need to get these lakes stocked! HOW?
I moved not too long ago and there are two lakes behind my house. One was their before and I think their is only bluegill in it because I fished it for bass and nothing happened. THe other is brand new and nothings in it. How would I go about getting these lakes stocked for free? I just wish there were bass in them so I could fish them everyday for bass. Who should I contact and How should I go about doing it. I can't stock them myself cause I don't have that much money. Maybe people in the subdivision would want to stock it too. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

Struck Out in Chocolate Milk
Cold muddy water is tough cause bass cant see the bait well and yet strike zone is pea size so yep its almost almost impossible.

Struck Out in Chocolate Milk
Hey man don't get down on that. Fishing can be about paying your dues. This is this week at a glance, Monday 0 Tuesday 5 bass and a 8 pounder or better Thursday 1 Saturday 0 Sunday 3 Don't get down that 8 pounder might hit.

Most INFORMATIVE fishing shows?
Infisherman shows are suppose to be 100 percent real caught fish unlike a lot of other shows. All the classic patterns and angler on tours are good too and also get my approval. Bassmasters on TV you can learn some. You can watch how some of the pro's work there baits and what gets them strikes.

Most INFORMATIVE fishing shows?
Roland is the Worst. I got a inside scoop from someone and he never actually catches fish for his shows for the most part. >

Yeah get a speed stop then you won't have to do what i do. But if you are using just regular bobs then yeah you are going to have to do what I do.

Float N Fly setup
Just today there was episode on Fishing University on Dale Hallow and they where fishing the float and fly. I would go there and get a guide also and I am sure they could teach you how to fish it properly. What I understand is you throw it out and just fish or pop it along a little at a time on bluff banks this time of the year and drift them around. They cast them by first loading the rod kinda like flyfishing with a fly rod then lob them out the boat. Don't get into a big hurry casting them out really hard.

what time of day to fish for bass in winter
When I went out the other day and got 5 it was pretty much a fish every 45 minutes. Seriously and I just fished the same point the whole time. Talk about being patient. Water temp was probably only 37 degrees or something. In the winter you got to know where the fish live. If you get a fish off a point chances are there are a lot of other fish in the area schooled but you need to be patient cause they are not hungry and wanting to bite. I think the best time of the day to fish in winter is about 10 to 3:30 earlier and the water isn't warmed up and later it's getting dark. I wonder if night fishing in the winter would be any good?

Adjustable cranks?
Some company use to make a bait that you filled with water to make it sink or something. Forget the name. I remember seeing it in a book somewhere :

Bass habitat in winter
I usually catch some big ones in the winter but not a whole lot. I usually do my best on deep points or 45 angle banks that are getting hit by wind. Not usually getting pounded but there is a nice wind hitting them. It doesn't hurt to have nice brush on the deeper points. Deep grass can also be good. I caught a 8 or so on a deeper grass point getting hit by wind.

biggest bass youve ever caught?

How do you deal with fishing around grass carp?
Usually I still catch bass in the areas where the grass carp are cause there is still carp on the grass. Once time I got about a 80bl carp on a dropshot rig in the fin. Thing was at least 5 feet long

cold water c-rig plastics
were you getting ice in your guides? I tried c rigging the other day but it didn't work, Dropshotting is the winter rig of choice for me because I can keep the bait in one spot foreever
