AAAAGH!!!

Recommended Posts

Well, I finally did it, I broke my wrist last night at baseball practice. We were in the ER until 1:00 AM and had to go to an orthopaedist this morning. I just keep thinking to myself "Why now, why not when I fell out of that tree 2 weeks ago or when I flipped the wagon down a 10ft. hill or when I got shot with a roman candle and fell of the spillway? It just had to happen now" I'm probably going to miss school ball tryouts BUT I won't miss the spring spawn so I guess everything evens out huh.  ;)

Baseball?  Your spring training is with a Rod and Reel in hand.  Now, cast and wind, cast and wind.   Flip into the bucket at 20ft, when you get good, switch to a glass.  When you get good at that, try 30ft....lol.  What are you doing there reading this >:(...get out and practice dammm it.....practice....lol

I usually set little shot glasses out to pitch to.  ;D

;D ;DI might have to get a couple Shimano Castaic's so I can fish with one hand ;D ;D

After seeing some disabled anglers, you should not have a problem. Good time to work on one handed knot tying.

Seriously though, Good Luck!

Sorry to hear about that! That really does stink!

Here's possibly a positive out of it. You could try switching up and cast with your right hand. A few weeks of practice and you might just catch on! Might help you get a your lures into certain spots a little easier if you could just switch hands for that different angle needed! Just a thought, hope it helps and heal up quick!!!!

Sounds like trolling time to me. 8-)

Sorry to hear about your accident, maybe you can get a bionic implant and outcast everyone. We can rebuild him--we have the technology.

Darn, I know you are upset and disappointed but things happen for a reason.

You now have time to devote to academics and to read and watch fishing videos and DVDs.

I broke my finger playing touch football 7 weeks before I was to be married.  The cast came off exactly one week from my wedding date and my wife was very happy that I could not play anymore touch football and break a leg or arm before the wedding.

I agree with the guys that you should try casting with your other hand.

Take care and get ready for some fishing in about 6 weeks.

Sligtly different since it was my elbow but I was in a cast four years ago. It was right at the end of fishing season. So for the last tournament I just used a spinning reel and casted left handed. I actually managed to land a few and 1 keeper. You may still be able to reel with that wrist although kinda stiffly if you want to get out now. The baseball thing is kinda tough. Mine happend 2 months before our band trip to the Rose Bowl Parade and I was a drummer. Luckily I healed but you never know talk to the coach.

good luck,

dont sweat it man.  my friend broke both his wrists and one of his forarms at the same time.  he fished perfectly, you will get used to it fast. the only downside is, u cant wash your cast, so you'll smell like fish all the time.  sorry to hear about that
