what should i have done

Featured Replies

my fiance and i fished yesterday at a very crowded local pond that is stocked with trout and has some bass. we saw a guy trying to snag fish with a treble hook. i was scared to say anything because the area is filled with ms13 gang members and i didnt want to start any trouble. should i have called dnr and reported?? i figured it was getting late and he would be gone by the time they came. Or should i have let him known politly that it was illegal to snag fish and can harm them??

for saftey i would stick to just calling and reporting the guy.  no need to get yourself hurt or killed over something like that.

Yeah DNR would have been the way to go.

Absolutely call the dnr No use putting yourself or loved ones in harms way Its not like you saw a mugging you saw a fish being snagged stay safe and still do the right thing

A similar thing happened to one of the guys on another forum that I am on -- he took pictures with his cell phone camera, including the guy's license plate number and reported it to DNR.  The guy was issued a ticket after the fact and told he could fight it in court, but that there was a witness.  The guy paid up.

i agree with everyone and i would call   and not make a scene with your family there

An AT4 would have cured the problem A.S.A.P.  ;)

I think i live in the same area as you in MD. What lake was this?
