Wacky rig question

Featured Replies

I'm ok with setting up a wacky rig worm but how do you fish it?  I've tried just dangling it, then tried to let is settle on it's own, pulling it slowly to the surface and letting it drop, like a long slow jigging motion.  I'm fishing in 6 to 8 feet of water.  Any enlightenment would be appreciated.

Thanks

cast it out  let it sink    raise rod tip   reel up slack  let it fall  and repeat

I've been Wacky Rigging alot to the way Cajun was saying. I was fishing a YUM Dinger Texas Rigged and didn't get any fish then I tried Wacky Rigging and started catching fish.

one quick note, it has been my experience that you need to "feed" them the wacky rig a little longer than c or t rigged. I will get a tap, tap, tap a lot but if I set the hook then, I seem to always miss the hookset. If I let the fish have it a little longer and feel a tap, tap, tap and then a pull, thats when I set the hook. Just a thought.
